In March, a group of students from Mariner Middle School, a local school located in Milton, Delaware, participated in a state BPA Leadership conference for the first time.
The BPA conference is a national conference in which thousands of students from across the country gather to compete, showcase their business skills and develop their leadership acumen in Dallas, TX from May 9-13.
Dylan Roberts, an 8th Grader at Mariner Middle School, earned himself an invitation to attend this year’s National Conference, but needed assistance to cover the expenses. While a portion was covered by the school, he need to raise an additional $1,660.
He started a GoFundMe account and was able to raise $1,135. When the Vice President, Michael Bell, of Harvard Business Services, Inc. received word of this prestigious opportunity for Dylan, he agreed to sponsor him for the remaining $500 so he can attend the conference.
This is just another way that we try to give back to our community. We wish Dylan much success at the competition and in all his future endeavors.
